To the Editor.
—I read with great interest the letter written by Thall et al1 on band keratopathy after orbicularis extirpation for essential blepharospasm. However, the patient they described had dry eyes (Schirmer's test, 1 mm at five minutes), so I disagree with the authors that this patient suffered from essential blepharospasm. It seems to me that the description blepharospasm caused by dry eyes would be better in this case.
