To the Editor.
—In an article by my colleagues and me in the December ARCHIVES,1 we described a new topical carbonic anhydrase inhibitor. It has come to my attention that proper credit for the pioneering work in topical carbonic anhydrase inhibitors was omitted from the list of references. Dr Thomas Maren is one of the world's foremost authorities on this subject, and we apologize for this omission. His initial work was published in 1983.2
