—Drs Repka and Guyton have correctly pointed out one of the potential complications of retrobulbar anesthesia for ocular surgery. One of us (L.B.N.) has recently encountered a retrobulbar hemorrhage following retrobulbar anesthesia without permanent ocular sequela. We agree with Drs Repka and Guyton that if a retrobulbar hemorrhage is recognized prior to surgery, the case should be postponed.
