—We thank Dr Lewis for his interesting observations. Our patients were on maximum-tolerated medical therapy, which in most cases included an oral agent and either epinephrine or dipivefrin. All subjects in our investigation, with two exceptions, were also receiving either pilocarpine or carbachol and timolol maleate. One subject had asthma, which precluded the administration of timolol and one subject had a moderate cataract, which precluded the administration of miotics. Eleven patients were black and six were white. Although our investigation of a limited number of patients was not designed to assess the influence of medication and race on fluorescein leakage, we did not find any differences related to these groups.
