We thank the authors for their interest in our article1 and welcome the opportunity to respond to their comments.
In the beginning of our DSAEK series (ie, the first 20 DSAEK procedures), we used an 8-mm nasal scleral tunnel to insert the donor posterior lamellar disc. The advantage of that approach (pulling the graft inwards using a vitreoretinal forceps from a sideport on the other side of the cornea without folding the graft) seems to be less traumatic to the corneal endothelium. We have a manuscript in revision describing this new technique in greater detail.
