We essentially agree with their comment about the relation between Mikulicz disease and IgG4-related chronic sclerosing dacryoadenitis. Four cases of IgG4-related chronic sclerosing dacryoadenitis presented in our article1 corresponded to Mikulicz disease, whereas cases of IgG4-related chronic sclerosing dacryoadenitis without salivary gland swelling did not meet the criteria for Mikulicz disease. However, it is sometimes difficult to determine mild swelling of the salivary or lacrimal glands, and we speculate that some cases with unilateral or bilateral IgG4-dacryoadenitis alone eventually progress to Mikulicz disease.
