We are grateful for the interest and attention of Messrs Liew and Cheung, and Drs Wang and Wong concerning our article.1 The authors have correctly described the similarity between vessel changes seen in retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) and those seen in diabetic retinopathy.
The authors have also identified a potential source of bias in our application of image analysis: relative differences in ocular magnification due to variation in refractive error may affect vessel diameters measured in images. We have not taken into account potential variations in magnification due to variation in the infants' refractive error. In our study, images were obtained with a single camera, using consistent instrument magnification. Our study design, a cross-sectional cohort with all measurements taken at similar postconceptional ages (PCA), minimized the potential . . . [Full Text of this Article] AUTHOR INFORMATION
