Dr Grossman also read a paper on the treatment of conical corneaby the hot-air cautery. He pointed out that any form of red-hotsubstance had the disadvantage of causing necrosis of any tissueit touched, and in addition it was difficult to accurately regulatethe temperature. This could be more satisfactorily obtainedby superheated air.
