Papadaki et al1 described 2 cases as the first report in which retinal vasculitis secondary to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) was successfully treated with plasmapheresis and immunosuppressive therapy. In 1981 we reported a case of SLE retinopathy in which vision improved following the use of plasmapheresis, corticosteroids, and cyclophosphamide.2
