Possible Shared Pathogenesis of the Retinoinvasive Phenotype of Malignant Medulloepithelioma and Malignant Melanoma of the Ciliary Body—Reply

Since this article does not have an abstract, we have provided the first 96 words of the full text and any section headings.

In reply

We are in essential agreement with the comments by Drs Kivelä and Summanen, and we basically concur with their interpretation that any malignant neoplasm of the anterior segment of the eye may become retroinvasive in the proper environment.

We sincerely thank Drs Kivelä and Summanen for their thoughtful comments regarding the important concept that they designate as retroinvasive phenotype, which also applies to melanomas of the ciliary body.
