Since the appearance of the first edition in 1988, Mark Levines Manual of Oculoplastic Surgery has become a widely used and highly respected source for the basics of oculoplastics, and is arguably a classic in the field. This third edition, published in 2003, continues the tradition of short chapters, clear and concise writing by multiple authors who are leaders in the field, and clear illustrations without photographs. Over the last few years, several outstanding books have been released that target the same audience. In reading this book, I was wondering whether it continues to be the best inexpensive and well-written manual of oculoplastics. The verdict is mixed.
As before, the book begins with a very well-written chapter on anatomy, and continues with chapters covering all the basics of oculoplastics. The illustrations are clear and effective.
