Adverse Ocular Effects From Lice Shampoo

In our December 2003 ARCHIVES article entitled "Adverse Ocular Effects From Over-the-Counter Lice Shampoo,"1 we implicated a product called Not Nice to Lice as causing severe ocular irritation and corneal abrasions. In the article, Safe Solutions Inc (Marne, Mich) was mentioned as the manufacturer of Not Nice to Lice as well as of an identical solution, Lice R Gone. Safe Solutions Inc sells Lice R Gone in the United States and Not Nice to Lice in the United Kingdom.

It has come to our attention that there are 2 products on the market called Not Nice to Lice, one of which is marketed in the United States. This second Not Nice to Lice is produced by Ginesis (Nashville, Tenn).
