It is currently rare for a medical textbook, particularly a sizable one, to be written in its entirety by a single author, but that is exactly what Jack Rootman, MD, FRCSC, did to produce his latest text, Diseases of the Orbit: A Multidisciplinary Approach. The book is a compendium of Dr Rootman's current thinking and years of experience in an unusual, all-orbital referral practice in Vancouver, British Columbia, that serves all of Canada and hosts referrals of complex orbital cases from around the world.
The book contains 14 well-written chapters covering the breadth of orbital examination, problem solving, disease, and treatment.
