This book is intended to provide residents the essential information about retinal conditions in an organized and clinically relevant manner rather than creating a comprehensive reference book for all retinal conditions. It is appropriate that the authors presenting such a format are both teachers. Dr Quillen is Residency Program Director at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and Dr Blodi is a member of the University of Wisconsin Fundus Photograph Reading Center (Madison, Wis), collaborating on design, conduct, and analysis of clinical trials. Furthermore, they received mentorship by one of the premier teachers in ophthalmology during their fellowship in medical retina with J. Donald M. Gass, MD. The unique format presents chapters with text on the left page and descriptive illustrations/photographs on the right for the first 2 pages of each chapter.
