Hermentaire Truc (1857-1929) of Montpellier, France, where he was professor of ophthalmology and founder of the ophthalmology clinics. He was an authority on the history of ophthalmology and did research on light blindness. In 1927, a bronze medal was struck to honor Truc's 70th birthday and 40 years' association with the Montpellier Ophthalmology Clinic. It was designed by the artist Henry Dropsy and presented by Truc's colleagues, students, and friends. The obverse (Figure 1) depicts Truc's bust facing left. The reverse (Figure 2) depicts the facade of the Montpellier Ophthalmology Clinic with inscriptions above and below.
