This book is the third edition of the original text by Joyce Mein and Brian Harcourt. The new authors maintain the basic framework of the book, and they are leaders in orthoptic training programs and have revised the book to reflect the expanding role of the orthoptist with regard to management and treatment recommendations. This is a well-written text that provides an excellent background for the evaluation of motility disorders in a format that is easy to read and comprehend.
The book is very organized, beginning with assessment and diagnosis, continuing with nonsurgical and surgical treatment, and culminating with the application of certain conservative (nonsurgical) and surgical treatments to specific conditions. The book's 23 chapters are split into 3 sections.
