This comprehensive, in-depth, inclusive, Textbook of Ocular Pharmacology is excellent. The authors have divided the 73 chapters into 8 sections. The books' greatest use will be for a one-stop reference to answer any question regarding pharmacology of the eye.
The first section covers all of the general aspects of ocular pharmacology. Contained in here are excellent chapters about pharmacodynamics, of drug receptor interactions, drug reactions not mediated by receptors, and includes a chapter on drug delivery systems. The chapter regarding drug delivery systems is an example of the editors' devotion to including subjects that are seeing great strides and improvement and continued change.
Section 2, the glaucoma section, is perhaps the best section, with all chapters well organized in an identical fashion. Again, the chapter regarding the future role of neuroprotective agents in glaucoma, is an example of the editors' desire to be as current as possible.
