Developments in the Archives of Ophthalmology Online

Exploring a New Medium

THE INTERNET has introduced a powerful and flexible medium for publication of all sorts, and numerous periodicals, including many scientific journals, operate Web sites that mirror or supplement their print publications. At present, each journal in the AMA family operates a Web site; the site for the Archives of Ophthalmology (Archives of Ophthalmology Online) can be found at http://www.ama-assn.org/ophth.

During the last few months, the publishers and editors of the Archives of Ophthalmology have added many new features to the original Web site. Along with introductory sections that express our mission and identify our editorial and publishing staff, we now post the titles and, for full-length papers, the abstracts of articles appearing in the current journal and in past issues back to July 1995.
