Abstract
The lipids in the subretinal fluid of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment are observed mainly in the albumin position following electrophoresis on agarose film. The lipoprotein in the subchoroidal fluid of the same eye is -lipoprotein. The albumin-like lipoprotein in subretinal fluid has no reaction with the antiserum samples specific to -lipoprotein and β-lipoprotein. Instead, an apoprotein of serum -lipoprotein with slow electrophoretic mobility was observed in subretinal fluid. Heterogeneous degradation products of serum lipoproteins were seen in the subretinal fluid of exudative retinitis, different from the subretinal fluid of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment and uveal effusion.
