Abstract
Attempts to stimulate recurrent inflammation in the eyes of rabbits with experimentally induced toxoplasmic retinochoroiditis by the injection of Toxoplasma antigens were unsuccessful. Introduction of living Toxoplasma organisms into the suprachoroidal space of eyes with healed, experimentally induced, toxoplasmic retinochoroiditis resulted in a lowgrade inflammatory response. These experiments provide evidence which contradicts the hypothesis that recurrent toxoplasmic retinochoroiditis results from the leakage of Toxoplasma antigens into the tissues of a hypersensitized eye.
