Abstract
The technique of transscleral diathermy performed under direct visualization is presented and its use discussed in four patients with malignant melanoma of the choroid. This technique is compared to photocoagulation of intraocular tumors. The author's therapeutic classification for the conservative management of malignant melanomas of the choroid has been included.
