Abstract
The case of a clinically typical herpes uveitis with deep keratitis and secondary glaucoma is reported. Electron microscopy of the piece of iris obtained through iridectomy (filtering operation for secondary glaucoma) revealed a massive invasion of all iris cells by herpes virus particles. The structure of this virus is described and compared with the appearance of virus particles in the cornea of another patient with recurrent herpetic keratitis unsuccessfully treated with idoxuridine.
