Abstract
The difficulty in correctly diagnosing clinically basal cell epitheliomas containing cysts microscopically is demonstrated. Clinical misdiagnoses occurred in almost half of the tumors containing large cysts microscopically and in one-third of those containing small cysts. Only one-tenth of solid tumors were misdiagnosed clinically.
