In three patients who had double-perforating ocular shotgun injuries, a
single lead shotgun pellet apparently fragmented after striking the eye,
resulting in two separate intraocular impact sites. The importance of
detecting double-perforating eye injury and becoming aware of this
potential complication with ocular shotgun injuries is emphasized.
