Illuminated retinal picks for vitreous surgery

We developed a new illuminated disposable retinal pick system for use in
vitreoretinal surgery. These instruments facilitate bimanual dissection of
proliferative tissue while allowing ocular endoillumination. We have found
these instruments to be helpful in the management of complicated retinal
detachment due to proliferative diabetic retinopathy or proliferative
vitreoretinopathy.
