An inexpensive optical device, an eyeglass loupe readily available
commercially, can be used to improve the near and distance visual acuities
of highly hypermetropic, aphakic patients. The device is simple to use and
can replace the expensive, conspicuous telescopic system (Bioptic) of
similar overall power.
