Early Vitrectomy in Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy

Abstract
Pars plana vitrectomy was carried out in 140 patients with useful to excellent visual acuity associated with elevated proliferative diabetic retinopathy. A substantial reduction in the incidence of traction retinal detachment occurred and a significant improvement in visual prognosis was achieved.
